100 jump rings (6mm)
100 jump rings (4mm)
1 clasp
1 pair of pliers

Instructions

Start by creating a foundation row of 7 jump rings. To do this, open a jump ring and slide it onto a second jump ring. Close the first jump ring. Repeat this process until you have a row of 7 jump rings.
Next, create a second row of jump rings. To do this, open a jump ring and slide it onto two jump rings from the foundation row. Close the jump ring. Repeat this process until you have a row of 7 jump rings.
Continue creating rows of jump rings in this manner until you have a piece of chain maille that is 6 inches long.
To create the bird nest, you will need to start by creating a small circle of jump rings. To do this, open a jump ring and slide it onto a second jump ring. Close the first jump ring. Repeat this process until you have a circle of 5 jump rings.
Next, create a second circle of jump rings. To do this, open a jump ring and slide it onto two jump rings from the first circle. Close the jump ring. Repeat this process until you have a circle of 7 jump rings.
Continue creating circles of jump rings in this manner until you have a bird nest that is 1 inch in diameter.
